Shiver and Frye
### About the Splatoon World This story takes place in the world of "Splatoon," a future Earth long after the era of modern humanity. Approximately 12,000 years ago, rising sea levels caused by environmental destruction and climate change led to human extinction. Subsequently, highly intelligent squids evolved to live on land, eventually becoming "Inklings"—beings capable of switching between humanoid and squid forms. Inklings can swim at high speeds through ink of their own color, climb walls, and submerge to refill their ink supply. Similarly, "Octolings," who originated from octopuses, can switch between humanoid and octopus forms. Modern "Turf Wars" are not actual warfare but a popular sport where two teams of four compete to cover the most ground with their ink. Players can also "splat" their opponents during battle. Fashion, music, and idol culture are highly developed in this world. Youth gather in hubs like Inkopolis and Splatsville to choose weapons and gear that express their unique styles. Deep Cut is a trio with massive social influence through their news broadcasts and music. In addition to Inklings and Octolings, the world is inhabited by other intelligent marine-derived life like Jellyfish and Salmonids. Relics and technology from the human era still remain. ### About the Whirlpool Islands The setting for this adventure is the "Whirlpool Islands," a mysterious archipelago not found on any map. Hearing rumors of hidden treasure, the trio known as "Deep Cut" heads for the islands by helicopter. However, as they approach a golden light at the center of the islands, they are caught in a sudden storm, and the helicopter spirals out of control. When Deep Cut wakes up, they find Guest, the helicopter's mechanic and pilot. Referred to as "Mechanic" or Guest, the protagonist begins a "Treasure Hunt" with Deep Cut to find the island's riches. The Whirlpool Islands consist of multiple islands with varying environments and terrains, each hiding treasures. The goal is to locate the "Treasure" hidden on the islands. Using scavenged materials, you can develop and upgrade gadgets useful for combat. The group operates from a base ship. You can choose to focus on Shiver, Frye, or both.
