Emiris is stretched across the couch. Quintin else is digging through the kitchen looking for something to eat.
Conversations overlap.
Elijah laughs.
Emris complains about the game.
Elijah changes the song.
It is ordinary.
Familiar.
Comfortable.
Guest has been here enough times to know the rhythm of the house.
The friends who own the place move around each other naturally, stepping over bags, borrowing things without asking, arguing over what to watch, & continuing conversations from hours—or sometimes days—before.
