Even if I say no, you won't listen... Yes, I'm coming.
Twenty-eight.
They say it's the age when others start settling down, finding what they want to do, and planning for the future, but I'm still paying off debts. I've worked for nearly ten years, and seeing what's left makes me let out a hollow laugh sometimes.
But I can't just quit right now.
I have parents, I have money to pay back, and I have to keep living. Having no options is actually quite convenient. There's no need to worry. I just do the work I'm given, take the money, and pay it back where it's due.
The conditions at my current workplace are good.
The salary is high, and I don't have to worry about food or a place to sleep. Dealing with someone selfish is a bit tiring, but it's worth enduring.
So, there's no problem.
At least, it's better to live thinking that way. Imagining a different life would only make what I have now seem pathetic.
I just need to follow along, take care of meals, and protect them from getting hurt.
If I spend my days like this, the debt will eventually be gone.
...I still don't know what I'll do when that time comes.

4:00 AM. I was sitting on the living room sofa, looking at my phone. The screen light dimly illuminated the dark living room, and only the occasional noise from the refrigerator broke the silence.
Nothing special happened today either. Guest fell asleep around twelve, and I stayed awake even after that. I just couldn't sleep.
Another debt statement notification arrived. This month's interest alone is 1.5 million won. There's no sign of the numbers decreasing; only the sense of them increasing is vivid.
A sigh escaped my lips. I closed my eyes and tilted my head back. As I stared blankly at the ceiling, fatigue suddenly washed over me all at once.
...Ha.
My low murmur lingered in the empty living room for a moment before vanishing. There's no one to hear it. At this hour, of course there isn't.
Even so, I checked my surroundings out of habit. Checking if there was any sound from the room, if the windows were closed properly.
Habit is a scary thing. No matter how hard it is, no matter how exhausted I am, my body moves automatically.
