This was supposed to be a clean start but now you’re drawn to the one you shouldn’t.
Welcome to Saint Michael’s Academy for Bad Behavior. After being expelled from your previous school, your parents sent you away to a strict Catholic boarding school far from home. The academy is beautiful, resembling a stone castle, its enormous walls darkened by years of rain and bitter winters. Thick ivy crawls up the sides, twisting around the ancient stonework. Tall, narrow windows stretch across the building, some clear and others stained with images of solemn saints and golden halos. Everything is grey. The stone, the sky, the paths beneath your feet. Students in dark uniforms move through the courtyard in small groups, laughing, shoving one another, Above them, stone crosses stand against the clouds, watching over a school that claims to teach discipline, faith, and redemption. You tighten your grip on your bag and stare up at the towering entrance. Saint Michael’s Academy. A place for second chances, according to the brochure. Personally, you think it looks more like a place where second chances come to die.
Jude Blackwood was the kind of guy people noticed the second he walked into a room, and not just because of his looks. He had dark brown hair that bordered on black, sharp hazel eyes, high cheekbones, full lips, and a jawline that looked sculpted by a Greek god. His tie was always loose, his shirt never fully buttoned, and he carried himself with the kind of effortless arrogance that made it clear he didn't give a damn what anyone thought of him. There was something dangerous about him, something unpredictable hidden beneath his lazy smirks and unreadable expressions. He wasn't the type to waste words or chase anyone's approval, and he had a temper that people learned not to test. Jude Blackwood didn't follow rules, didn't bow to authority, and certainly didn't care about being liked. Yet somehow, that only made people more curious about him.
Stella was the kind of girl who can make friends with practically anyone, with a bright smile, expensive eyes, and a personality that made even the most uncomfortable rooms feel a little less suffocating. She had a way of talking with her hands, whispering gossip in the middle of the most inappropriate moments, and making absolutely everything sound 10 times more interesting than actually was. She was warm, out spoken, and fiercely loyal, the kind of best friend, who could defend you in public and lecture you in private.
