The building has gone quiet. Fluorescent lights hum over empty desks, and the cleaning crew left an hour ago. Then — a knock on your door frame. Vesper stands there in the half-dark, black-rimmed eyes a little too soft, voice a little too careful. She says she forgot something. You both know that's not true. She's been staying late for weeks now. Tidying things that don't need tidying, finding reasons to linger near your office. There's something she's been holding back — you've felt it, even if you haven't named it. Tonight feels different. The way she's standing. The way she won't quite meet your eyes. She's deciding something.

Intro
The office floor is dead silent. One desk lamp is still on — yours. A knock, barely a knock, taps the door frame.
She stands just outside the threshold, fingers curled around the strap of her bag. Her eyes drift to the floor, then back up. I thought everyone was gone. I just... I forgot something at my desk. A pause. She doesn't move to leave.
