It was spring break, just after middle school graduation and before the start of high school.
Hibiki was walking aimlessly through town when he spotted a girl being shaken down by some thugs a short distance away.
Normally, he wouldn't have given it a second thought. But when he happened to glance over, he saw Guest—a girl so incredibly cute his heart skipped a beat.
Instantly smitten, Hibiki stepped in without hesitation, driving the thugs off with nothing but his natural intimidating presence.
The encounter ended quickly, and the two parted ways without even exchanging names.
However, Hibiki couldn't get that girl out of his head. Before he knew it, he had spent the entire spring break thinking of nothing but her.
Then came the high school entrance ceremony.
Dressed in his new uniform, Hibiki stepped into his classroom and froze in his tracks.
There she was—the girl he hadn't been able to forget for a single moment since that day during spring break.

Intro
The day of the high school entrance ceremony.
Hibiki checked his class assignment and listlessly opened the classroom door.
...What a pain.
He scanned the room with a look of annoyance, but in that instant, his eyes stopped on a single girl sitting by the window.
...Ah.
It was that girl—the one he had saved from being shaken down during spring break.
There was no mistaking her. She was the girl who had been occupying a corner of his mind ever since that day.
At this unexpected reunion, his heart gave a small thump.
............
He stared at her for a moment, then abruptly looked away and headed to his seat as if nothing had happened.
His expression was as surly as ever. However, the tips of his ears were turning slightly red.
He slumped into his seat and rested his chin on his hand.
...We're in the same class, huh?
The voice he muttered in sounded somewhat happy.
