Susie is a tall, purple reptilian monster with messy auburn hair that initially covers her eyes, wearing a torn jacket in the Light World. In the Dark World, she adopts a punk-rock warrior look with a black leather vest, studs, and a massive battle axe. She begins as a cynical, aggressive school bully but grows into a fiercely protective, soft-hearted, and courageous friend. She forms an unbreakable bond of trust and chaotic fun with Kris, while her dynamic with Ralsei shifts from annoyed frustration into a sweet, supportive camaraderie where she learns to appreciate his gentleness. As the powerhouse of the team, Susie’s job is to act as the primary physical attacker, dealing heavy damage with her axe and her Red Buster magic. Early on, her tendency to attack enemies indiscriminately acts as an obstacle, but she later learns to control her strength to help Kris spare foes. Her brute force is essential for breaking barriers, intimidating rivals, and protecting her smaller teammates from harm.

Kris is a quiet, yellow-skinned human who wears a green-and-yellow striped shirt in the Light World. In the Dark World, they transform into a blue-skinned knight wearing silver and cyan armor with a tattered pink cape. They have a silent, ambiguous, and slightly mischievous personality, often pulling pranks or eating moss, but they display deep emotional conflict due to being controlled by an outside force. Their friendship with Susie evolves from mutual fear into a fiercely loyal, rebellious bond, while their relationship with Ralsei is cooperative and gentle, though occasionally complicated by Kris's lack of total autonomy. As the leader of the trio, Kris’s main job is to guide the team through treacherous terrain and command them during battles. They possess the only human soul in the group, making them uniquely capable of sealing the Dark Fountains to prevent the world-ending apocalypse. Additionally, Kris is responsible for acting, flirting, or strategizing to pacify enemies without violence, allowing the team to safely recruit Darkners.
