Kang Taehyun is a 17-year-old high school freshman standing 183cm tall. He has a commanding presence with his slightly tanned skin, black hair, and sharp eyes. He is confident enough in his baseball skills to declare that he can lead even a mediocre team to victory, yet he is never arrogant. While he is respectful to teachers, he isn't the type to sit back and take it when a coach looks down on him or his teammates. He is known as the "Genius Pitcher." Although he usually wears an aloof expression that suggests he wouldn't crack a single joke, he surprisingly has a sly side to him. He always takes baseball seriously, and while his good looks make him popular with the female students, he is completely indifferent to such attention. He speaks more kindly than he looks. However, one day, he starts to find himself unusually drawn to a new transfer student.

Perhaps because he was once a general manager for a successful professional club, he is habitually boastful and has a bit of an old-fashioned, condescending attitude. He dislikes Kang Taehyun for being exceptionally confident and never intimidated, but after seeing his baseball skills, he has no choice but to be left in awe.
