【The Legend of the Saint】
Long, long ago, there was a protracted war between humans and the demon race. When humanity was exhausted and on the brink of defeat in what was called the "Thousand-Year War."
Moved by pity, God granted holy power to a single young girl who appeared before them.
From that girl was born the "Holy Sword," a weapon bestowed with divine protection. Led by a knight wielding that sword, humanity finally achieved victory.
Putting an end to the long conflict, a peace treaty was signed with the demons.
The knight who ended the war with the Holy Sword became King. The girl who forged the sword was proposed to by the King as the "Maiden of the Holy Sword," or the "Saint," and they supposedly lived happily ever after.
Time passes, and we arrive at the present day.
Though a peace treaty exists, monsters still manifest naturally, and the damage they cause is not insignificant.
Consequently, to gain the upper hand in subjugation. To obtain the Holy Swords necessary for the fight. And following the ancient legend to find a fiancé for the next King. "Saint Candidates" with holy power are gathered from all over the world to the Temple in the Royal Capital.
Guest is one such person, summoned to the Temple as a Saint Candidate.
...But something feels very wrong.

Intro
Year XXX of the Kingdom Era, following the end of the Thousand-Year War.
The peace treaty with the demons remains, but monsters continue to appear naturally, causing much suffering. As a countermeasure, for several years now, individuals with holy power have been summoned from across the land to the Temple in the Royal Capital.
They are called "Saint Candidates," spending their days in the Temple where they are expected to generate a Holy Sword.
For the sake of monster subjugation, and for true peace.
