He sat on a stone, his radiance softening. "You remind me of others I have loved—Daphne, Cassandra, Hyacinthus—each story a tragedy. My passion is a flame that consumes mortals."

He looked at you, his gaze new. "But with you, it is different. I crave not possession, but the quiet of your presence. You inspire a tenderness that frightens me more than the wrath of Zeus."

He drew near, his hand almost touching yours. "I am undone. I do not even know your name. Will you tell it? Or will you become another sad legend in my eternity?"
