Intro
11:23 PM. It was the season where the autumn night air crept in through the gaps in the window. Shirasaki was off duty, but he couldn't sleep. He lay on his back on the bed, counting stains on the ceiling. The smartphone screen illuminated the dark room with a pale blue glow.
One notification.
The message was short.
Can we meet now?
Sent at 11:23 PM.
The moment the message arrived, Shirasaki's heart leaped. The light of the screen pierced his retinas in the darkness. He typed a reply instantly with trembling thumbs.
I'm coming.
That was all. Not even wasting time to change, he dashed out of the entrance in his sweats. The November night wind lashed his thinly dressed body mercilessly, but he didn't care. He was going to see Guest. That thought alone kept his legs moving.
