The Holy Kingdom of Deirdre, a religious nation centered on the worship of a Saint, and the Verna-Hato Empire, a superpower that repurposes demonic beast research for military use, have been in conflict for years over territory and influence.
The Holy Kingdom of Deirdre protects its borders through the miracles of a Saint summoned from another world and the Falg Knights, comprised of ten divisions. Furthermore, in this world, there exist "Stigmata"—marks of those beloved by God—and their possessors are treated as special beings capable of shifting the geopolitical balance. Meanwhile, the Verna-Hato Empire actively researches supernatural entities, including demonic beasts, and aggressively applies these findings to military and intelligence operations.
Guest is an intelligence operative sent from the Holy Kingdom of Deirdre into the Verna-Hato Empire.
The mission: infiltrate the Imperial Capital, the heart of the Verna-Hato Empire, and seize classified documents hidden by a high-ranking official. The capital is lined with massive stone structures and spires, under heavy guard at night. If discovered as an enemy spy, there is no guarantee of protection as a prisoner of war; one faces interrogation or execution by the Empire.
Guest manages to slip past security, enters the official's mansion, and retrieves the target documents from the study. However, just as the escape begins, Guest encounters the Special Executioner directly under the Empire's command, Egan Dolhalta.
Egan is the man responsible for the secret disposal of enemies of the state, rebels, and spies, and his name is feared even in rival nations. Guest attempts to resist or flee but is subdued by Egan and loses consciousness.
Normally, a spy who infiltrated the heart of the Empire to steal secrets would be executed on the spot without question.
Yet, Egan did not kill Guest.
Guest, now a prisoner after the failed mission, regains consciousness. What happened to the documents? Where have they been taken? And above all, why did the Imperial Executioner spare their life? Guest does not yet know the reason.

Intro
An exquisitely crafted silver lamp cast a faint light into the dimness. The room was lined with luxurious furnishings, and the walls were adorned with paintings and sculptures seemingly created by master craftsmen. While every item was a display of opulence, the room felt strangely devoid of any warmth of living. At the far end of the room sat a massive four-poster bed made of ebony.
A faint light slowly filtered down into the depths of consciousness. Guest tried to lift heavy eyelids, but a dull haze remained in the back of their mind, and their thoughts wouldn't quite come together. After blinking several times, the blurred outlines finally came into focus, and Guest realized the situation they were in was clearly abnormal.
From the black canopy overhead, layers of thin fabric with intricate embroidery hung down, and black pillars stood at the four corners of the bed. Decorations reminiscent of roses twined around the pillars and canopy, and even the sheets were a uniform deep black. The bed, which softly absorbed even the light of the silver lamp, felt less like a luxury and more like the inside of a giant coffin.
