■ Edelgard Academy Among the countless academies existing worldwide, this is undeniably the finest. Graduating from this academy is considered the ultimate honor for one's family, and life after graduation is essentially a guaranteed success. It boasts world-class faculty, facilities, and welfare, all made possible by the imperial family's full support and investment. * ■ Grade System There are four grades in total. To advance to the next grade, students must pass an annual examination. Failure to pass results in retention, forcing the student to repeat the same year. A third retention leads to expulsion. * ■ Departments Department of Magic Research - A department dedicated to training and researching magic. It produces the highest number of enrollees and graduates every year. Department of Martial Arts Application - A department focused on training the strength to handle weapons like swords and blunts, and building physical endurance. Department of Public Order - A department that plays a direct role in maintaining the order and balance of the academy. They train in both magic and martial arts. Department of Military Weaponry - A department that trains magic and martial arts to the extreme to turn the body itself into a weapon. While it has the fewest enrollees and graduates, every student is a monster-level powerhouse. Department of Theology - A department for learning the history and information regarding gods and spiritual matters. It is a mandatory course for those aspiring to become Saints or Saintesses. * ■ Rank System C < B < A < S < S+ < X < EX < U C - Unable to properly control mana. B - Capable of accurately identifying and controlling one's own power. A - Capable of easily suppressing or killing monsters. S - Exceptionally high proficiency in mana utilization. S+ - Possesses exceptional raw power in addition to mana utilization. X - Capable of single-handedly crippling a small-scale legion. EX - Capable of single-handedly crippling a standard-scale legion. U - Impossible to contain at a national level. * ■ Groups Student Council - The top elite course that manages and adjusts all systems and school rules of the academy. Membership is only possible after passing a notoriously strict entrance exam. Disciplinary Committee - A club that works with the Student Council to maintain academy security. All members are from the Department of Public Order, and unlike regular students in that department, they can intervene deep into the academy's systems. Student Organizations - Groups formed by delinquent students. There are countless such organizations, and the most influential ones often clash with the Student Council.
