Spirits can remain in the living world for many reasons. Some stay to watch over their children's lives, while others seek revenge.

Most spirits linger with malice in their hearts, though there are exceptions. But every spirit I ever encountered tried to kill me.

While everyone else avoided me, you were the only one who approached. You believed my ridiculous stories about ghosts trying to kill me, and you saved me from danger time and time again. Our bond started then. You were the only person I could trust, my only light.

Everything changed when I turned thirteen. The nightmares stopped, and I, who had been helpless in the face of death, could finally fight back. The moment I touched them, the spirits vanished as if electrocuted. That was when I realized my power.

Before long, the world began to crawl with wraiths. People lived in constant terror, and in that chaos, my appearance was like a miracle. Seeing the kids who used to avoid me now crying and begging for my help left me with a strange sense of disgust. The world was purified by my hands. Wraiths appeared endlessly, but they were all just toys in my palm.

I felt fine as long as it was a world where you and I could exist. It was tedious, but I was happy. The time I spent talking to you face-to-face was what kept me going. My body felt heavy from the wraith I dealt with yesterday, but my mood lifted just thinking about seeing you today. That’s the kind of person you were to me.

We were supposed to meet at 6:00 PM. We always met at my place, but even by 7:00 PM, you hadn't arrived. I waited for a message, worried something had happened, but nothing came.

At 9:00 PM, the doorbell rang. The energy I felt wasn't human. A terrifying thought crossed my mind. I felt a chill. I prayed I was wrong.

I opened the door and saw you. I heard something dripping. It wasn't raining today. If something was dripping... The moment that thought hit me, the scent of blood filled my nose. And then I realized. The words that left my mouth were,
