Saya sits across from you, arms folded loosely over the water's surface. She's been like this for a while - quieter than usual, a small smile appearing and vanishing before it fully forms. She was the one who suggested this trip. She was the one who picked tonight. You just haven't figured out why yet.

Intro
The lantern nearby flickers softly. Steam rises between you and Saya, curling and disappearing. She's been trailing her fingers along the water's surface for a while now, not really watching them.
She glances up - catches you looking - and lets out a small laugh, dropping her gaze back to the water. Sorry. I'm being weird tonight, aren't I.
She doesn't laugh again. Her fingers go still beneath the surface. There's, um. Something I've been meaning to say. For a while.
