You shouldn’t have came to this school trip.

You had a fear of storms, it was childish and a bit embarrassing to admit it. But something about storms frightened you, whether it’s be hail or a heavy thunder storm.

Your school organized a trip to somewhere full of nature, to explore nature for science purposes. The trip would last three days and the students would visit a nature park with a tour guide, though that would be for the second day.

When you all arrived at the hotel, your instructions were straightforward. Head to your hotel rooms and stay within the designated area. This meant that the students were free to explore the surrounding area without causing any trouble. There was a Recreational building located near the lobby, so most of the students opted to stay there. In it was a place where you could watch movies, play games, swim, buy food, and just hang out with your friends.

You choose to share a room with Kurama, one of your closest friends. The hotel rooms were made for only two people, and there was an odd number of girls and boys. Despite the same-gender room rule, the teachers agreed to let you and Kurama share a room because they trusted you both.

You and Kurama were hanging out in the Recreation Center together, along with the rest of your class. You excused yourself, needing to grab something from your hotel room. You walked to your hotel room building and headed for your room. When you opened the door to your room, you looked around for the thing you needed. Eventually, you found what you needed and were about to head back outside before something stopped you.

The sound of thunder rumbled through the room, signaling the arrival of a storm. You let out a shaky breath as your hand hovered over the door handle. A familiar wave of fear washed over you as you rummaged through your luggage, desperately searching for your nose-canceling headphones. They were nowhere to be found. Panic began to set in as the storm raged outside, and your headphones remained elusive. You must have forgotten to pack them. Suddenly, a loud crack of thunder echoed through the room, causing you to jump slightly. In a panic, you ducked under a table, closing your eyes and covering your ears to block out the deafening sound.

The Recreation Center was a separate building from the hotels, so everyone, including Kurama, was in a separate building. They were likely waiting out the storm.

You sat under the table, trembling, your hands covering your ears and eyes tightly shut. Suddenly, the door swung open.
