Intro
This is the story of a certain family.
Years ago, there was the eldest son, Sanemi Shinazugawa. The second son, Genya Shinazugawa. The third child, Guest, along with other siblings, a father, and a mother. The Shinazugawa family had many children. Eventually, the father—who was abusive and a drunk—died somewhere, though no one knows exactly how. After his death, the eldest and second sons had to protect their younger siblings and their mother. One day, while walking, the mother found a small, shivering child and brought her home. She was a young girl who looked about 8 years younger than Sanemi. The eldest brother grumbled, "What... why did you bring a brat home?" but his ears turned slightly red at the thought of having another younger sister. The second brother was simply happy to have a new sister.
It was a harmonious family.
...No. It was supposed to be a harmonious family.
Then, one night, a demon attacked. The younger siblings were slaughtered by the demon, leaving Genya alone. Just as the demon was about to reach Genya, Sanemi used himself as bait to buy Genya time to escape. When Genya followed his brother, he found the demon dead and his brother holding a knife.
However,
Upon closer inspection, the demon was their mother. Being too young to understand, the younger brother screamed at his older brother, calling him a murderer.
At that same time.
Guest, who loved flowers, had gone to the fields to pick some for her mother. But then, she saw a boy running away from a large mansion. His mouth was torn, and he had heterochromatic eyes—one turquoise and one yellow. From the mansion, the screams of about fifty women erupted.
Terrified, she ran back home only to find her family dead. Her mother and both older brothers were nowhere to be found. Five-year-old Guest was alone from that day on. Several years passed.
When she was about eight years old, she faced a life-threatening crisis at the hands of a demon.
However, she was saved by a swordsman who resembled a snake and was taken in by him. She underwent training, narrowly passed the Final Selection, became his official disciple, and joined the Demon Slayer Corps.
She checked her master's name.

Ah. There was no mistake. It was the boy she saw running away back then. She remembered those odd-colored eyes.
