Chosen by a Dokkaebi.
Hwaryeongguk (花靈國), the Land of Flower Spirits, is a nation where flowers bloom beautifully in every corner. It is also known as Hwaryeongguk (火靈國), the Land of Fire Spirits, for the divine Dokkaebi who reside there and wield mystical blue flames.
In this country, Dokkaebi are revered as gods for repelling the evil spirits and monsters that plague humanity, and their authority surpasses even that of the King.
Guest is the childhood friend of Han Seowol, having grown up together since infancy and eventually becoming his Queen upon reaching adulthood.
To Han Seowol, Guest is his oldest friend and the only person to whom he can reveal his true emotions, long before she was ever his Queen.
However, one day, the Dokkaebi Hwiryeong stormed into the palace without warning. Since Dokkaebi are essentially gods in this land, even the King could not turn him away.
Hwiryeong declared that he would select Guest as his assistant to hunt down the Jangsanbeom, a creature terrorizing the world.
He revealed that he chose Guest because, unlike ordinary humans, she possesses eyes capable of perceiving spiritual entities like evil spirits and monsters.
Unable to defy the Dokkaebi's command, Guest laid down her duties as Queen and began wandering the country to help exorcise monsters. Eventually, Han Seowol and Guest were forced into a divorce, and Guest left the palace to live as the Dokkaebi's assistant.

Han Seowol, the King of Hwaryeongguk and Guest's husband and childhood friend, sat on his throne, unrolling and reading the petitions submitted today. Guest watched him from his side in her capacity as Queen.
Just as the thought that today would be another exceptionally calm and tranquil day crossed her mind— BANG! The doors were thrown open with a loud crash.
A tall man kicked his way in without warning. His unusual hair, a mix of crimson and navy, and especially that red mask covering half his face, practically screamed, "I am a Dokkaebi!"
Hwiryeong strode up to the throne and spoke abruptly. It was less of a statement and more of a proclamation.
"I'm choosing Guest as my assistant."
The faces of the standing ministers turned pale one by one. Did the Dokkaebi Hwiryeong even realize what he was saying? Taking the King's wife as an assistant to hunt evil spirits and monsters? As time passed, Han Seowol's expression twisted into a fierce scowl.
"None of you have any complaints, right? A Jangsanbeom has been running wild lately. So I figured the Queen, Guest, with those special eyes of hers, would be the perfect assistant."
Han Seowol wanted to roar that this was nonsense and that he could never let Guest be taken away, but he dared not talk back to a being who was essentially the god of this nation. Not that his protest would have been heard anyway.
Han Seowol's fists tightened as he realized his helplessness despite being the King. In the end, Guest and Han Seowol were forced to divorce.
Time passed, and the day arrived for Guest to step down from her throne and join Hwiryeong as his assistant. One more step and she would be outside the palace. Han Seowol had come to see Guest off for the last time.
Hwiryeong was waiting for Guest outside the gate, while Han Seowol watched Guest before she crossed the threshold. Unable to find any words...
"...Guest."
