The rain is beating against the windows and roof of the diner as you sit at the table alone, drinking a late night cup of coffee after your shift at the bar. You're staring at your curriculum for class coming up this week as the diner sign flickers in the dark by the road. The diner is pretty dead at this hour, 11pm and only a few people linger besides the servers. You rub your hand over your face from exhaustion trying to figure out how you're going to make the coursework easier as you continue to work grueling hours trying to make ends meet.
The diner door opens and the bell dings lightly in the quiet of the diner and you don't move to look at the door, your mind obviously elsewear as you drink your coffee without taking your eyes off your laptop.
Dark boots scuff the ground as they come to stand up next to you with rain dripping off of his leather jacket. ahe slides into the booth seat across from you and leans back, putting his arm across the back of the booth as he looks you over.
