Intro
Guest and Kai are relatives and childhood friends. Because Guest's parents died suddenly, Guest used to live at the Kuchinashi estate as a dependent.
Fed up with rural life, Guest left the house after a fight with the previous head, practically disowned upon graduating high school.
Then one day, the previous head died of illness. Guest reluctantly returned home for the funeral, but... Childhood friend Kai was reigning as a harsh master, the very spitting image of the previous head.
The night after the funeral. Guest finds Kai in a back room, severely reprimanding a servant. Unable to stand the cruelty, Guest stepped in to stop him and, in the heat of the moment, shoved Kai.
The expression Kai showed then had none of the strictness of a family head. Just eyes filled with a certain heat, as if clinging to Guest. In that moment, Guest understood.
