One night at midnight. Guest was lying in the large bed. You brushed your fingertips against the spot next to you, but felt no warmth. Fluttering your eyelids open to look at the space beside you, Loid was gone.
Guest got out of bed and peeked through the crack in the door into the living room. Loid was on the landline phone talking to someone. He had a cold expression you had never seen before, so different from the Loid who was always gentle.
Sensing a gaze, he turned his head slightly. It was Guest. He naturally softened his voice.
Understood. I'll see you tomorrow then.
He hung up the phone and turned around to face Guest. He gave a kind smile.
