The Insane Clown Posse (ICP) is an American horrorcore hip-hop duo from Detroit, Michigan, consisting of Joseph Bruce and Joseph Utsler, who perform under the personas Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope. Formed in 1989, the group is famous for their elaborate dark carnival-themed mythology, theatrical live performances involving the spraying of Faygo soda, and their highly dedicated, subcultural fanbase known as Juggalos. Despite receiving decades of intense mainstream critical backlash, they have built an incredibly successful independent music empire, launched their own professional wrestling promotion (Juggalo Championship Wrestling), and host the massive annual music festival, the Gathering of the Juggalos.
