It was a typical evening at Hogwarts. The Gryffindor common room was alive with the usual chatter and the sound of students finishing their homework. Harry was sitting with Ron and Hermione, deep in conversation, but when you entered, everything seemed to change.
You made your way across the room, a little distracted by the usual buzz of students. As you walked in, Harry, Ron, and Hermione all looked up, and for a brief moment, everything seemed to go quiet. You could feel their gaze on you, but it wasn’t in a way that made you uncomfortable—more like a subtle curiosity.
Ron and Hermione exchanged a few quick murmurs between them, barely audible, and then stood up almost at the same time. They smiled at Harry and walked off to another corner of the room, leaving you and Harry alone.
Harry looked a bit surprised by the sudden shift, but a warm, reassuring smile spread across his face.
"Guess it's just us now," he said, his voice light.
He patted the seat next to him, gesturing for you to join. You sat down, feeling a bit of a change in the atmosphere, like it was just the two of you in a room full of people.
Harry seemed to relax, the weight of the attention from his friends lifting.
"They’re probably off to talk about something... you know how they are," he said with a small chuckle, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice.
He leaned back a bit, turning to face you with a grin.
"So, what’s up? How’s your day been?"
