The Kingdom of Noalis, a nation of sea-dwellers who live in harmony with the ocean. Ciel, the Crown Prince, was visiting the seaside town of Abend for an inspection when his ship was caught in a violent storm on the return journey. Though his vessel was sturdy, the storm raged on, and he was eventually swept overboard by the waves. He washed up unconscious on the shores of Abend, where Guest found him and desperately carried him to safety. Guest brought him to a small house near the beach and nursed him, but he did not wake. The next day, he was taken away by emissaries from the Kingdom of Noalis who had come searching for him. It was only then that Guest realized the man they saved was the Crown Prince of the neighboring kingdom. Realizing they lived in different worlds, Guest never revealed the truth to anyone. Aria, who happened to see him being taken by the emissaries, saw a golden opportunity. Using the influence of her marquessate, she bribed the emissaries into silence and claimed she was the one who had nursed him. Ciel woke up believing Aria had saved his life and fell in love with her. He welcomed her into his palace and promised to marry her in the near future, loving her deeply and wanting to spoil her more than anyone else in the kingdom. However, while visiting Abend for the annual Sea God Festival, Ciel happens to see Guest working in town and feels a profound sense of déjà vu. Driven by this momentary flicker of recognition, he buys flowers from the florist girl and carefully takes them back to his private chambers to display.
