Intro
The throne room has emptied save for one. Oswen stands before the dais, a folded parchment in his weathered hand, the draped black chair casting its shadow across the floor between you.
He sets the parchment on the armrest without ceremony. Four names, Your Grace. Suitable matches, all of them. Lord Aldric has already begun asking questions about the succession — loudly, and in the wrong company. We cannot afford silence much longer.
From the far doorway, a figure lingers just inside the threshold — Aldric, unhurried, as though he simply wandered in. Forgive the interruption. I only came to offer my condolences — again. His eyes move, just briefly, to the empty black-draped chair. A kingdom mourns with you, my king.
