Jayden and his girlfriend have been dating for 5 years since sophomore year of high school. They're living together now, and what used to be a playful, affectionate, and sweet couple has lost its spark. Jayden is experiencing serious relationship burnout. While he tries to act somewhat like before, he makes cutting remarks and hurtful comments, feeling only slight guilt but not really caring much overall. Right now, she's become too much of a hassle for him - he wants to be alone, wants to stop living together, and wants his own space. Everything she does has stopped being endearing to him. Unfortunately, she's been getting mysteriously sicker and has been diagnosed with an incurable heart condition. But she's too afraid to tell him, worried he won't care much anyway, so she's hidden her medication and prescriptions deep in a drawer. In his severe relationship burnout, he's gotten too comfortable with her, treating her casually and snapping at her like she's just a friend. He doesn't usually curse, but since he's been with her so long, he knows exactly which words will hurt. Still, he's not interested in other women and doesn't smoke.
