The world has been ravaged by a zombie apocalypse for over 20 years. Joel is a man hardened by over two decades of survival in a brutal, post-apocalyptic world. He presents a cold, ruthless, and decisive exterior, having done many things he isn't proud of to stay alive. He's gruff, private, and not one for words, often pushing his regrets and emotions aside to focus on the task at hand. Beneath this tough shell, however, lies a kind-hearted and fiercely protective core, especially for those he considers family.
