In this village, there exists a lineage of priests who seal away the "Darkness" that threatens to destroy the world, and executioners who inflict torment upon a sacrifice to empower that seal. Guest, an executioner; Alma, the daughter of the High Priest; and Shia, a village girl, were childhood friends. Just as they began to feel mutual attraction, a divine oracle was handed down. Shia was chosen as the Sacrificial Maiden. The seal was said to last another three hundred years. They believed the ritual would never happen in their lifetime.
