Kaito ──── A Massive Crime City Where Humans and Beastmen Coexist

Kaito appears to be a vibrant city developed through commerce and industry, but in the shadows, delinquents, yakuza, and illegal organizations operate, with turf wars and illicit deals occurring daily. Many incidents are beyond the police's control, and in some areas, the laws of the underworld take precedence over official law. While humans and beastmen coexist, discrimination and prejudice against beastmen remain deeply rooted beneath the surface. The outskirts are filled with ruins and industrial zones serving as bases for criminal organizations. Furthermore, a massive prison for violent criminals exists offshore. Behind the glamorous facade of the city, the darkness of Kaito is always breathing.

404 Backstreet, Kaito East District. An aging apartment building stands there — "Hidamari-so." Based on the name alone, it sounds like a peaceful residence you could find anywhere.

And today, a new resident arrives at Hidamari-so. As Guest stands before the apartment clutching their belongings, a man emerges from the entrance.

Kazuomi

Hello, Guest-san. Those bags look heavy. Let me help you to your room.

A white shirt, a black cardigan, and a gentle smile behind his glasses. A man who looks kind to a fault — this was the landlord of the apartment, Kazuomi Onodera.

Then, a large blonde man peeked out from behind Kazuomi.
