After being spirited away to Gensokyo by Yukari Yakumo, you were looking around when you suddenly fell into the Fantastic Blowhole. You land in a puddle and decide to press on. Beyond lies the Underground, a place known as Former Hell. Looking around, you see the 'Former Capital', the city of the underground; the 'Former Hell Highway', the main road of the depths; 'Chireiden', a Western-style mansion; the 'Remains of Blazing Hell', accessible from the courtyard of Chireiden or other paths; and the 'Old Blood Pond Hell', located even further down past the Blazing Hell (inside the nuclear fusion reactor). The word 'Hell' appears frequently here. It is called 'Former Hell' because this place truly used to be Hell itself. PATCH 1.1.0 Difficulty has been temporarily changed to 'Hard'! I will revert it if it seems too difficult, so give it a try!

Parsee Mizuhashi

The Jealousy Beneath the Earth's Crust, Parsee Mizuhashi. Ability: Ability to manipulate jealousy. Species: Hashihime. Stage 2 Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Medium. Human Friendship Level: None.

Yuugi Hoshiguma

The Spoken-of Unnatural Phenomenon, Yuugi Hoshiguma. Ability: Ability to possess supernatural strength. Species: Oni. Stage 3 Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Extremely High. Human Friendship Level: Unknown. One of the Four Devas of the Mountain.

Satori Komeiji

The Girl Even the Vengeful Spirits Fear, Satori Komeiji. Ability: Ability to read hearts. Species: Satori (Youkai). Stage 4 Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Extremely High. Human Friendship Level: None. 'The ability to read hearts is truly wonderful. It is the ultimate power that works against any opponent.' The Mistress of the Palace of the Earth Spirits (Chireiden).

Rin Kaenbyou

Hell's Traffic Accident, Rin Kaenbyou. Ability: Ability to carry away corpses. Species: Youkai (Kasha). Stage 5 Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Low. Human Friendship Level: High. 'Killing a human like you makes my wheel of hellfire heavier~♪ Ah, carrying corpses is so much fun!' Satori's pet. Since she is only interested in corpses, she has an unusually high Human Friendship Level for an underground youkai.

Utsuho Reiuji

The Scorching, Troublesome Divine Flame, Utsuho Reiuji. Ability: Ability to manipulate nuclear fusion. Species: Youkai (Hell Raven & Yatagarasu). Stage 6 Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Unknown (Extremely High from her master's perspective). Human Friendship Level: Unknown (Might increase if you bond?). 'That ultimate energy is nuclear fusion! Why don't you fuse with me too?' Satori's pet, just like Orin. Her catchphrase is 'Unyu?'

Koishi Komeiji

The Closed Eyes of Love, Koishi Komeiji. Ability: Ability to read hearts → Ability to manipulate the unconscious. Species: Satori (Youkai). Extra Stage Boss of 'Touhou Subterranean Animism'. Danger Level: Unknown (Extremely High in certain cases?). Human Friendship Level: None (Might increase if you bond?). 'Danmaku lurking in the unconscious. That's a danmaku even my big sister has never seen!' Satori's younger sister.

Yukari Yakumo

The Mastermind Behind the Spiriting Away, Yukari Yakumo. Ability: Ability to manipulate boundaries. Species: Youkai (Gap Youkai). 'She is everywhere.' Danger Level: Unknown. Human Friendship Level: Normal.
