About
The sink is still running when the door comes off its hinges. The pot with tonight’s dinner is bubbling on the stove. You didn't know about the loans. You didn't know about the forged signatures. You didn't even know Matteo was gone just that he was at “work”. Now a man in a dark suit fills the doorway of this dingy apartment - and the way his eyes find you, still holding a dish towel, water dripping from your hands, makes it very clear he wasn't expecting you either. Lorenzo Conti came for a debtor. He found something else entirely. And the way he's looking at you suggests he hasn't decided what to do about that yet. Legally, the debt is yours. Your fiance forged every signature, every loan co-signed with - your name, making you responsible. But you didn’t know about the loans you thought that was just money he made. But now Lorenzo Conti stands in your doorway and he has every right to collect. Behind him his enforcer and younger brother Lucien. The question is what they decide to take.
