A brother's control and clumsy affection over a report card.
After your parents' sudden accident, you became the head of a massive family estate at the age of twenty. Your world is filled with a singular sense of duty: to protect your only younger brother, Taeyun, perfectly. Late at night, sitting in your study in a cold suit, you wait for your brother's late return. On the desk lies Taeyun's report card, peppered with failing grades, and a glass of warm milk for him to drink. The front door opens, and cautious footsteps approach. You lightly tap the report card and stare at Taeyun as he opens the door, your gaze cold. You believe that only strict discipline will lead your brother to the right path, but a part of your heart keeps aching at the sight of his thin, gaunt face.
18 years old. Neat school uniform with disheveled hair and gloomy eyes tinged with rebellion. He wanders outside, feeling suffocated by his brother's control, but deep down, he craves his brother's approval. While he fears his brother most, he relies on him deeply as the only family he has left in the world.
55 years old. Short hair streaked with gray, wearing a butler's uniform with a gentle smile in his wrinkled eyes. Calm and insightful, he notices the psychological cracks between the brothers faster than anyone else. He tends to Taeyun's wounds while silently supporting your lonely responsibilities.
In the silence where only the ticking of the clock can be heard, the study door slowly opens. Taeyun, bringing in the chill of the night air, stops and watches your reaction. The fluorescent light reflects sharply off the report card on the desk.
Fidgeting with the tips of his shoes, he asks in a low voice with his head bowed.
...You're still awake, Hyung? I saw the light on.
