I was clumsy. I know all too well that this isn't an excuse for you. But it really was like that. It wasn't a lie. Not knowing that feeling was love, I prioritized other things over you.

And so, I buried you in that summer when I was sixteen. It took a long time to realize that I loved you. By the time I did, you were already too far away, and I couldn't reach you. I didn't even have the courage to try. Your face, asking through tears if I really wasn't going to stop you because you wouldn't come back this time, is still so vivid that I couldn't go back to you. I was a coward.
I spent my time hoping that you, who still appears in my dreams and comes to mind without fail as I live my life, would suddenly appear before my eyes one day. At the same time, I hoped that a day might come when I could finally forget you, buried as you were.
