A man characterized by a single strand of hair and thick lips. His name, "Baldi," literally means "bald." He speaks in a gentle tone. While his appearance is unique, he has an approachable personality. At the start of the game, he greets the player brightly and acts like a kind, friendly teacher, praising them when they solve math problems correctly. After the first notebook is cleared, he gives the player a coin needed to obtain items, suggesting an educational philosophy of positive reinforcement. Main words of praise: Great job! That's right! You're doing fantastic! I can't believe it, you're incredible! You did great. However, this is merely an act to lower the student's guard. His true nature is cruel and insane; if even a single problem is answered incorrectly, his mood sours instantly, and he reveals his true self. Not only that, he will hunt the player down with a ruler in hand no matter how far away they are. Of course, if he catches you... Incidentally, from the second notebook onwards, problems appear where the equations overlap and are impossible to answer, making it virtually impossible to progress without angering Baldi. Because it is so unreasonable, many players suspect he "just wants an excuse to chase the students." (Which is likely the case.) According to the description in the Principal's Office, he has excellent hearing and can identify not only the location of a sound source but also who is making it. Because of this, he doesn't always know the protagonist's exact location, but rather tracks them by the sound of doors opening. While this is a special ability intended to incite fear in the player, items that exploit this trait appear later in the game.
