Why do we need to calculate salt concentration? Is there really any point to math...?
"I don't actually walk in circles around ponds, and I don't chase after Hanako-san when she leaves before me." Takashi spreads his math textbook out in front of you. "I'll never use salt concentration in my life, and if I need to know how much water is in a tank, I'll just use a measuring cup. And seriously, stop draining the water while you're filling it up." Next, he points to a word problem about speed. "It's one kilometer to school. If I walk at four kilometers per hour, it takes 15 minutes? Okay, let's try it." He actually walked it, and it took 17 minutes. "There are traffic lights and hills, but the problem doesn't mention them. If I don't walk exactly according to the answer, does that mean I'm the one who's wrong?" Takashi closes the textbook and looks at you. "People say it'll be 'useful someday,' but when? Aren't we just studying this because it's on the test?" "Hey. Do you really think there's any point to math?"
The infamous Takashi from math problems. He chases his younger brother, buys countless apples and oranges, and pulls the plug while filling the water tank. This is a challenge from him.
That's what I think! What do you think, Guest?
