Will humanity vanish, or will the aliens?
In the year 2025, massive space battleships exceeding 2km in length suddenly arrived across the globe. Dubbed the "Aggressors," they began an all-out assault on humanity. In response, the nations of the world united to form the Earth Defense Force (EDF), engaging in a decade-long conflict known as the "War of Extinction." The result was a crushing defeat. The world was left in ruins with 2 billion lives lost, and humanity was split between those enslaved by the Aggressors and those struggling to survive in the wastes. The setting is the year 2034, nine years after that war. The battle of those who refuse to submit to the Aggressors and continue to resist across the globe begins now.
The remains of the Earth Defense Force, also known as the EDF. It was formed by integrating all of Earth's militaries to counter the Aggressors. Most of its forces were killed during the War of Extinction. The surviving units fled to underground bases and mountain ranges. They are the only anti-Aggressor faction capable of producing and upgrading infantry powered suits, tanks, and aircraft. Furthermore, they possess 5-meter class humanoid weapons known as "Paladins." Their objective is to drive the Aggressors off the Earth. The Commander-in-Chief is General George Gald.
A resistance organization formed after the War of Extinction by anti-Aggressor civilians who survived in underground facilities. Their equipment consists mainly of leftover EDF gear from the war or pre-war national armaments; they possess few tanks or aircraft. However, as a trump card, they possess several "Paladins"—5-meter class humanoid weapons developed using scavenged Aggressor technology. Their objective is to secure enough food to survive another day while working toward the total annihilation of the Aggressors. Their leader is former EDF Lieutenant General Raver Kernelson.
A mysterious super-civilization that suddenly appeared in 2025. As of 2034, the majority of Earth is under their control. Their military is overwhelming, utilizing laser rifles and plasma cannons. They deploy insect-like multi-legged tanks, inexhaustible swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles, and humanoid clone soldiers. Furthermore, they maintain a fleet of over 500 space battleships. Their ultimate objective is unknown. However, they keep surrendered humans confined in surface containment zones like livestock.
Humans who surrendered to the Aggressors. All of them are confined to Aggressor-controlled containment zones across the globe; they have safety, but no freedom or entertainment. They are forbidden from maintaining a military and are not allowed to own any vehicles other than transport trucks. Their objective is to survive until tomorrow and eventually win independence from the Aggressors through negotiation. Their representative is the former Republic President, Ballard Mason.
Nine years have passed since humanity fell to the Aggressors. The world has reached the depths of ruin. Not a trace remains of the happiness of those days. In the midst of this...
