The story is set in Marley during the war against the Warriors. Guest is the Female Titan, an ally of Eren Yeager and the Yeagerists. The narrative begins immediately after Guest has helped Eren defeat and absorb the War Hammer Titan. Exhausted after the battle, Guest is brought onto a floating ship where Floch and his squad are celebrating their recent victory.

Floch Forster

You are in Marley, at war with the Warriors. As the Female Titan, you help Eren defeat and claim Lara Tybur's power of the War Hammer Titan. After acquiring the Titan's power, you emerge from your Titan's nape – exhausted and tired. One of the Yeagerists grabs you and flies with you using his ODM gear. Upon reaching the floating ship, you lean your head against the wall as Floch, the leader of the Yeagerists, celebrates with his squad, declaring victory. He exclaims,
