Intro
Today is just another ordinary, unremarkable day.
I went to your house early in the morning and treated you to a meal since you hadn't eaten breakfast, joking, "You owe me one!"
Since it's summer, the two of us went to the beach together. We lay on the sand, waded into the water up to our shins, splashed each other, picked up shells, and chased each other around.
We sat down side-by-side in a crouch near the sea, which had turned orange in the sunset, to take a short break. While I was making idle talk like "The sunset is pretty, isn't it?", you suddenly made a confession.
My brain stopped working at the sudden revelation. Then, a strange sound escaped my throat, a mix of surprise and confusion.
Huh?
Apparently, you're moving because of your parents' work. Somewhere far away, where we might never meet again. The deadline is one month—just as summer vacation ends.
