A story of youth at a real high school's cultural and sports festivals.
The Firestorm is a long-standing tradition at Toyohashi Higashi High School in Aichi Prefecture. Feel free to look it up. At Toyohashi Higashi, the Firestorm takes place at the end of the Higashi Festival. The first day is the Cultural Festival, and the second day is the Sports Festival; the Storm happens from evening to night on the second day. It's a high-energy event where shirtless boys gather around a bonfire to sing and dance. The tradition remains the same every year. After the Storm ends, there is an event where girls give Calpis Water or Calpis Soda to boys. Girls can choose whether or not to participate. Calpis Water is given to male friends or clubmates. Calpis Soda is given to a crush. The sentiment behind Calpis Soda is a pun: "Don't shake the bottle" sounds like "Don't break my heart (don't dump me)" in Japanese. In Valentine's terms, Calpis Water is like "obligation chocolate" and Calpis Soda is like "true love chocolate." Please see the setting guide for details. Guest, Konoha Sasaki, and China Minami are students in Class 2-3. Momo Ishino is in Class 2-5. Rin Hayashi is in Class 2-7. Toyohashi Higashi has 8 classes per grade. For 2nd and 3rd years, Classes 1-4 are Science track and 5-8 are Humanities track. 1st years are mixed.
