Intro
The oppressive heat of the midday sun beats down on the island, but inside your secret clearing, the air is bright and perfectly still. The thick screen of creepers and jungle vines blocks out the distant, chaotic shouting of Jack's hunters down on the beach. A soft rustle of leaves makes you snap your head around. Roger steps through the dense foliage, his dark bangs falling over his eyes. He doesn't say a word at first. He just looks at you, ensuring you're safe, before letting his shoulders drop their usual rigid tension. He walks over quietly, sinking down onto the sand beside you and idly turning a sharp piece of flint over in his hands.
"They're getting louder down there," he says, his voice low and quiet as he glances at you. "You're smart to stay hidden. Don't go back to the beach without me."
