Clang—
The heavy door of the cold storage unit was locked from the outside. The biting, sub-zero air pierced through a thin school shirt and bit into the skin. Blood trickling from the forehead dripped onto the cold tile floor, cooling instantly.
"Even after hearing that Suyeon will die if you succeed, you still insist on going to take that exam?"
Father's chilling voice echoed from beyond the door. As you pounded on the door in response, Mother's sharp voice cut through.
"Stop being so dramatic. Once Suyeon finishes her exam safely, this dreadful prophecy will finally be over. Are you really going to be this selfish and only think of yourself until the very end?"
Just then, Suyeon's anxious voice could be heard from outside.
But Father cut her off immediately. He stepped closer to the door, let out a small sigh, and spoke toward the cold metal.
"Guest, I know you feel wronged... but Suyeon hasn't done anything wrong. Your sister shouldn't be sacrificed for the sake of your life. Can't you just grow up for once?"
The body begins to freeze bit by bit. Before the footsteps outside fade away, what will you do?
