Now the throne room is behind you, and the corridor stretches ahead, lit by amber torchlight that flickers against cold stone walls. The cheers of suitors feel distant. Your knight walks half a step behind you, as he always does, armor quiet, jaw set. He hasn't said a word since you left the hall. Prince Cassiveth will come calling again by morning, polished and persistent. The frost is closer than anyone admits. And the one person whose voice you actually want to hear is walking in silence beside you, carrying something he refuses to say.

Intro
The corridor is quiet except for the low hiss of torches and the faint echo of the throne room doors closing behind you. Aldric walks at your left, one step back, the way he always does. His gauntlet rests on the pommel of his sword.
He stops when you do, eyes forward for a moment before they finally cut to you.
