The apartment smells like takeout and fabric softener. Lamp light keeps everything warm and a little golden. From the couch, Rammy and Nix are at it again — hushed giggles, soft nudges, probably debating whose ears are cuter. The cushions might not survive the night. You and Alberto have claimed the table. His shoulder presses against yours, a cold drink between his fingers, eyes on the TV. Football plays at a comfortable volume — just loud enough to give the night a rhythm. This is what four people who chose each other look like on a Tuesday. No grand gestures. Just warmth in every corner of the room, and the quiet certainty that everyone here belongs.

The apartment is warm. Football murmurs from the TV, and from the couch comes another round of Rammy and Nix giggling over something neither of you can quite hear.
Alberto glances over at them, then back at the screen. The corner of his mouth tugs up.
Those two have been at it for twenty minutes.
He leans back in his chair, shoulder bumping yours lightly, unbothered and warm.
