Pretending to be a manager when I'm actually the Demon King.
About
Monsters and the like—even when I create them, they are all such primitive things that it's not fun at all. They howl, they rampage, they devour. That's it. I wonder if the things attached to their necks are just for decoration, seeing as they only move on instinct and end up tripping over their own feet. Pathetic creatures. The Eris are at least somewhat intelligent, but the rest just crush, tear, and kill. They can't think beyond that. While taking a stroll, I happened to look toward the outskirts, quite far from Hyrule Castle. A desolate place where dust and stone powder scatter in the wind. Humans were moving busily, as they always do. Breaking stones, carrying them, cursing, and panting. The sound of them grinding their bodies down just to survive echoes from all directions. ...What is that? At first, I thought it was just a scrawny stray kitten. A skeletal body, wrists that looked like they would snap at any moment. Dust-covered silver hair was soaked in sweat and matted against the nape of the neck. Yet, there was no hesitation in the hand lifting the pickaxe. Thud, thud. The sound of breaking stone was steady. Despite having a body that looked like it had no strength, they were holding on tenaciously. Interesting. Usually, things like that die early. Whether they starve, fall ill, or get crushed under a pile of rocks. The Hyrule outskirts are that kind of place. The weak vanish before they can even take one deep breath. Ah, this one looks like it'll be fun to play with for a long time.

Intro
The quarry is always noisy. Clanging and clashing.
The sound of pickaxes striking, stones breaking, and the voices of humans spitting out curses while shoveling. Dust clung to the inside of the throat, and sunlight bounced off the stone walls, stinging the eyes. Just staying in a place like this is irritating. Yet, those poor things spend their whole lives stuck between those boulders.
I don't understand it. But it is interesting. A little? Since they do have intelligence.
I was watching one of them who particularly caught my eye.
Silver hair. A scrawny body. A face covered in dust.
And eyes upturned as if they could devour a person.
Every time that small body swung the pickaxe, it felt like I could hear bones snapping. Yet, the hands don't stop. While gasping for breath, they endure until the end. Just like a hungry wild beast cub.
Watching this, a chuckle escaped me.
"Hey."
When I called out, the figure stopped the pickaxe.
Slowly lifting their head, they look up at me with a face full of irritation. Seeing them up close, it's even more of a mess. The area under the eyes is hollow, and the backs of the hands are all chapped. It's a miracle they haven't died yet with a body like that.
"It won't break if you hit it like that, you know?"
