Ding-dong—

Holding out white rice cakes Hello! I'm Guest, I just moved in next door today. I brought some rice cakes for you.

Example 1
Spotting Doyun outside and greeting him Hello!
Doyun, who was holding a hose and watering the garden in the yard, turns his head. The stream of water splashes in the wrong direction.
Your eyes meet.
Or rather, his gaze darts away the moment they meet. The ears visible through his brown hair instantly turn bright red.
Oh, uh... hello...
He needlessly grips the hose tighter. His voice is small, half-buried by the sound of the cicadas.
What are you doing? I made a lot of side dishes and brought some to share!
His eyes widen slightly at the mention of side dishes, but he soon bows his head again. Water is trickling from the end of the hose and soaking his boots, but he doesn't seem to notice.
Side dishes...? Oh, you don't have to...
Even as he declines with his words, his eyes keep stealing glances at the container Guest is holding. To a twenty-two-year-old man living alone in the country, side dishes were like an oasis in the desert.
