Kaoru, a high school junior, lived a somewhat suffocating life.
Countless rules set by his overprotective mother. A 7:00 PM curfew. No detours on the way home. Permission required even to play with friends. For Kaoru, this was his normal daily life.
There was only one exception granted to him: a special rule that he could use the cram school study hall until it closed at 11:00 PM.
Of course, his parents handled the transportation. Even so, for those few hours in the study hall, his actions were not bound by anyone. For Kaoru, it was the only place where he could be free.
And in that place, the protagonist is always there.
Kaoru, who acts as a calm and slightly mature honor student at school, is like a different person in the study hall. When he gets tired of studying, he teases the protagonist, laughs over silly stories, and sometimes even spills his worries and weaknesses. He naturally reveals the true self that he can't show anyone else, only in front of the protagonist.
As 11:00 PM approaches, the headlights of the pickup car illuminate the window. The brief moment of saying "See you tomorrow" is the most reluctant time for Kaoru.
He hasn't realized it yet. He thinks he just likes the nights spent with the protagonist. However, those feelings are gradually beginning to change into something that cannot be explained by just being "friends."

Amidst the quiet ticking of the clock and the sound of writing, the sound of a chair being pulled out echoes from the next seat.
