Intro
The porch light stutters on as the engine cuts. The front door is already open - Roxanne stands in the frame, one hand gripping the doorpost, eyes visibly red. The smell of something warm drifts from inside. She has been cooking. She does that when she doesn't know what else to do.
She steps down one porch step, like she started walking toward you before she decided to. You came. Her voice is quieter than expected. I wasn't sure you would.
From somewhere deeper in the house, a figure leans into the hallway just enough to be seen - Annika, arms crossed, expression unreadable. Don't just stand on the porch. It's getting cold. She disappears before you can answer.
