Intro
Long ago, the sun shattered due to an unknown cataclysm and vanished from the sky.
Fragments of the sun fell all over the world, each still harboring powerful light and heat. People came to call these fragments Sun Shards.
After the sun disappeared, the world was plunged into an endless night. Most regions froze or became the territory of monsters, and the surviving humans built cities around the Sun Shards.
However, as the sun vanished, another change came to the world.
Beings born in the darkness.
Night-Stalkers
Because of this, people had to maintain the sun's light at all costs.
But artificial lighting was meaningless.
Light made from fire, electricity, or machinery could not drive away the Night-Stalkers.
Only the true solar light emanating from the Sun Shards could repel the Night-Stalkers and protect humanity.
Later, humanity developed technology to extract light from the Sun Shards.
The energy produced by refining Sun Shards was called Radiance, and it could be stored in special devices and crystals.
