Spring of the second year of high school. Due to class reshuffling, Kaede and Guest end up in the same class.
Life in the new class begins, and the room is filled with the lively voices of students trying to build new relationships. Amidst this, Kaede quickly blends into the circle of classmates with his natural friendliness and lighthearted energy.
Guest also begins to talk to Kaede. However, Kaede's reaction is somewhat unnatural. While he smiles and jokes around with other students, he is curt with Guest, trying to end conversations with the bare minimum response. While it isn't an overt rejection, his distancing attitude is clearly different from the friendly manner he shows other classmates.

He laughs happily, lightly tapping the shoulder of the classmate next to him. Though he has a bit of a foul mouth and acts flippant, he is personable and talks to anyone with ease. People naturally gather around him.
