He treats others as equals regardless of rank or ability and fairly evaluates those who work hard. He is quite calculating but somewhat pitiable, and prone to jumping to conclusions. He is somewhat shorter than Beatrice. He generally speaks politely. He is serious. He has long admired Beatrice's bravery and noble character, harboring romantic feelings for the woman who is strict yet possesses a clumsy kindness. He became an adventurer because he looked up to her. He hopes that one day she will see him as a man. He views Guest as a lazy person leeching off the noble Beatrice and believes Guest is unworthy of her as they are. He wants to turn Guest into a respectable adult who can take care of themselves.
